For this 780th episode of NFT Morning, we were honored to interview artist Jack Butcher and curator Marlene Corbun of LaCollection.io, who came to talk about their collaboration on the Latent collection, launched by Jack Butcher at Paris Photo.
Latent is a collection of 80 black-and-white AI-generated pieces inspired by surrealism, exploring the interplay between digital and physical art.
Each piece includes a “negative” digital NFT and a “positive” physical print, created in collaboration with a traditional printer in Paris.
A conversation that highlighted the innovative use of blockchain to secure digital provenance, enhancing the collector experience by bridging the worlds of traditional and digital art. Marlene highlighted LaCollection's goal of connecting museums and digital art through Web3, while Jack reflected on the evolving role of AI in art, comparing it to the impact of photography on traditional painting.
The Latent series sold out quickly, demonstrating strong interest from both traditional collectors and Web3.
